Detail

Gas Introduction
Carbonyl sulfide, also known as oxysulfide carbon or carbonyl sulfide, is an inorganic compound with the chemical formula COS. It is a colorless gas with a foul egg odor at room temperature and pressure, slightly soluble in water, and can quickly dissolve in alcohols, toluene, and bases. It is an inorganic carbon compound structurally similar to carbon disulfide and sulfur dioxide. The gaseous COS molecule is linear, with one carbon atom connected to the oxygen atom and sulfur atom through two double bonds.
Carbonyl sulfide can be used as a fumigant instead of bromomethane and phosphine. In organic synthesis, it is used to synthesize thioacids, substituted thiazoles, insecticides such as Batan, herbicides such as Oat Enemy, and Diclofenan. Calibration gas and standard gas used as online instruments in the petrochemical industry.
